Overview / Biography

I taught high school math for a long time. After a couple of decades I became a school administrator. Then my last couple years I went back to teaching math and being a part-time administrator in rural Kentucky. It was in what the NY Times called the poorest county in the U.S. I taught at an awesome place - Red Bird Christian School.

Anyway, being a math major in college, I knew a lot of math, but not necessarily a lot of economics, electronics, chemistry, aeronautics, etc. - all those places where they use the math I was teaching. I always thought somebody should write a book on math applications specifically for high school math teachers. So I did that. You can find more info on the book on another page of this blog if you are iterested. It was a fun, yet fairly difficult process. Books are hard.

Along with that, I thought I would try my hand at doing a weekly blog on those kinds of things I've come across in they years I was teaching math. I think along with applications I might have some biographies, math history, etc. So, this is it. I hope it's helpful.
